Treatment Philosophy
Dr. Norcross’ treatment philosophy is guided by the traditional Eastern view of the body.
Long ago, the Chinese discovered that the body is a complex network of energy circuits. These energy circuits are similar to electrical currents. The individual organs of the body generate this energy which then flows along a defined path, or, “network”. This network, which was discovered and charted centuries ago, is consistent among all human beings.
A healthy network gives the body a continuous and unrestricted flow of energy leading to an overall vitality. However, if an internal organ is not functioning properly, it will furnish too little (or sometimes too much) energy. This creates an imbalance in the system that will eventually cause your muscles to tense, making it even more difficult for your energy to flow. This in turn will lead to stiff, sore, and weak muscles. Uneven stress then develops on the joints to which these muscles are attached, leading to chronic muscle and joint pains that often refuse to heal properly. Not only does this organ imbalance lead to structural imbalance and pain but the actual organ dysfunction and strain leads to a host of internal complaints. It is this chronic strain and dysfunction that can, over time, lead to disease and disability.
Disease is not an overnight process but a slow progressive process. By this reason, natural healing is also a progressive process. Physical weakness and infirmities usually progress over a period of years. Disease doesn’t happen overnight nor does the body’s natural healing process.
